These great circa 1950s heavy brass Chinese koi-shaped locks are ideal for holding closed a Chinese chest

He measures 8 1/2" long x 4 3/4" tall x 3" wide

which I believe dates to sometime between 1900-1920s

but as framed it does not jump out much

but this is the first set of Chinese spellicans I have had

I love to imagine the delight OH Whitman must have taken in using these (and what a perfect name), and that he will continue to be imagined whenever one uses, or simply looks at them, yet. Late 19th century or so I would guess. 4 3 8" tall. 1 11 16"
